"Apply and forget" or "Do not wait for DHCP server response"
...or a flag to set something like that.
I defined a new "HOME" profile and I set "DHCP" for both ethernet and WiFi (among other settings), no matter if I use cable or wifi.
When I activated the profile (no cable attached), I think NSM waited for a timeout setting DHCP on ethernet connection.
It would be nice to have a setting to "set but don't wait for configuration" or to set configuration but don't wait for it if no cable is attached, etc.
Do you think it could be useful?
thanks,
Andrea.

Re: "Apply and forget" or "Do not wait for DHCP server response"
In our opinion, waiting for the network to be ready is a useful feature. However, you have a point there, that waiting for a wired network without any cable attached is probably not required. We will consider removing (or shortening) that waiting time for cases where no other settings are applied after the IP.
If there are other settings, then we believe the delay can be useful, because it gives the user time to realize and fix the missing cable, so other settings in that profile that rely on a network connection can still process.
