Opera as default browser?
Vista Ultimate SP1. I have Opera set as my default browser. If I go into the browser settings, I have a choice of IE or a drop-down list containing one item: "Firefox (default)". Firefox is installed but is not the default browser.

Re: Opera as default browser?
Opera uses the proxy information of the Internet Explorer / Windows if no other proxy settings are configured inside Opera itself.
So you only need to change the IE settings with NSM and Opera will use them as well.
However, if you once changed the proxy settings inside Opera manually, Opera will remember that and refuse to use the global settings.
Do change that behavior please do the following:
1. Close Opera
2 Go to C:\Documents and Settings\[Your Username]\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\
(or ...\AppData\Roaming\Opera\... in Vista), create a backup for the file opera6.ini and open the original file with a text editor.
3. Find the [Proxy] section and remove it. (remove everything from [Proxy] to the next section heading [ ... ] including the [Proxy] line.)
4. Save the file, start Opera, and use NetSetMan to change the proxy settings for IE. It will now also affect Opera.
