Vista Service Pack 1
Hi,
I've been using NetSetMan 2.4.2 on Vista UAC without any issues for ages, I've recently install Vista SP1 and since then I can still run NetSetMan but none of the settings take affect. The adapters are located too without any issue.
Has anyone else come across this?
Cheers

Re: Vista Service Pack 1
Hi,
Thanks for the replies.
I've run it as Administrator but that didn't work either.
No error messages. It just freezes on:
[0:00] Start: DHCP (11:47:51)
[0:00] Applying new settings ...
[0:01] Adapter found
[0:01] IP & Gateway: Start
The longest I've left it for is an hour and I gave up. Is there any debugging logs I can look for?
Thanks
C

Re: Vista Service Pack 1
Well, "none of the settings take affect" and "it just freezes" is quite a difference. With this descriptions I can recommend you to have a look at the first topic in the FAQ "Activating a profile doesn't work at all. What can I do?". It describes your freezing error, so please follow the instruction and hopefully it helps.
If it doesn't then please also try out the second topic "Activating a profile takes a very long time...".

Re: Vista Service Pack 1
Thanks Ilja, I checked the FAQ's; WMI is working fine on my laptop and so is my network configuration. I've also tried reinstalling NetSetMan and changing Registry security settings.
To clarify, the settings taking no affect is a result of the NetSetMan freezing however the application doesn't crash as I'm able to cancel the process within NetSetMan.
I'll keep looking, it must be something particular to laptop.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Vista Service Pack 1
Have you also checked your hosts file and the DNS service?
