Local Area Network (LAN) Properties

Hi,
Can I check if on the LAN properties are suppose to show the following whenever the NetSetMan program are running to switch between IP Address / DNS Server?

IP Address: Blank

Subnet: 255.0.0.0

When I check the ipconfig/all, the IP Address and Subnet are stated.

Is this a bug or it's Vista issues? When I change the LAN settings manually without running NetSetMan, the details are capture in the properties box.

I'm running Vista Ultimate, UAC are turn off and have administrator rights on my login.

Re: Local Area Network (LAN) Properties

Vista messed up a bit with the WMI interfaces which are used for changing the IP.
I already heard about the mentioned problem but as it seems it doesn't appear every time and especially not on every system. So hard to tell what the exact problem is.

Testings have shown that even the network dialog doesn't show the correct IP, it's still set correctly. If I got you right that's the same for you!? In that case it's of course 'ugly' to view some wrong settings there but at least trhe settings should work correctly.

I'll keep looking for a solution and will do a fix or workaround as soon as I find something.

Btw: What happens after a reboot of Windows? Are the values still wrong or are they then updated correctly?

Re: Local Area Network (LAN) Properties

Rebooting still giving me the same result. The IP address change can be seen on COMMAND windows. It seems to be happening when the IP address or the DNS settings are manually used and not set to find them automatically.
