Use DHCP but remove Gateway
Hello,
I am using 2 networks on my laptop (1 LAN & 1 WIFI). When connecting to the 2 networks I only want a gateway on the LAN connection but not on the WIFI connection. When I choose to set IP manually I can remove the gateway, but when using DHCP I do not seem to be able to remove the gateway for the WIFI connetion.
Is it possible to use dhcp but still remove the gateway?
Thanks. Pascal

Re: Use DHCP but remove Gateway
Gateway addresses can be set additionally to DHCP, therefore the gateway list in the profile is applied as well. Make sure there is no gateway configured in that DHCP profile (not even grayed out in the overview). You can access the gateway list by clicking the IP+ button. If the gateway list is empty and you set DHCP, there should be no gateway remaining in your system configuration.

Re: Use DHCP but remove Gateway
That is what I have tried. But when I check the Gateway box and I add no gateway the checkbox is unchecked when I open the IP+ settings again.
When I activate the profile and check ipconfig /all I still see the gateway for that specific connection.

Re: Use DHCP but remove Gateway
Please provide screenshots. You can upload them to your forum user profile and then either add them to your posting or if they contain private information, just tell us to look them up in your profile:
- Your profile configuration
- IP+ view
- ipconfig /all result after activating that profile
Also please add the activation log that you can open at the bottom of the activation dialog.

Re: Use DHCP but remove Gateway
Please read the tooltip and/or the log message about the "Skip" part. If the same settings are already set, the adapter is not reinitialized. This is normally the best way for a normal use case, but if you are doing experiments like now you might not see the expected result. You can force it by setting the status for that adapter (or for both) to "Restart" as described in the message.
