Re: all settings,profiles are lost - V5.0.6
So far, this is the second report of this kind. We have no idea how this could even be possible, because we have integrated an atomic write procedure that can deal with incomplete write operations (due to power failure or system crash).
You can import a backup of your configuration that is automatically created with every update. You can find it in the Backups subfolder of the application folder.

Re: all settings,profiles are lost - V5.0.6
The same problem occurred on the second computer with Win10 20H2.
File "netsetman.xml" (in NetSetMan folder) is created each time the computer is turned off.
Value in this file is equal default value.

Re: all settings,profiles are lost - V5.0.6
File "netsetman.xml" (in NetSetMan folder) is created each time the computer is turned off. Value in this file is equal default value.
Could you please elaborate on that? How exactly did you analyze that?
Generally speaking, the default values are only written to the file, if the file does not exist or if it is empty.
What we can do is to prevent writing to the file completely if the system is currently shutting down. This workaround should be acceptable, because at that point there shouldn't be any unsaved data anyway.
We have implemented this now and it will be part of the next release, if we don't come up with a better solution until then.
However, we would actually like to find out the reason for this problem. We haven't been able to reproduce this problem. So far, we have received this problem description from three different users. Considering that this is a major problem, it is a very small number of reports, so this is not a general problem. However, this shouldn't be happening at all, of course.

Re: all settings,profiles are lost - V5.0.6
The time and date that the netsetman.xml file was created coincides with the time that the computer was last shut down. After each shutdown, the date and time have a new current value.
When the settings were lost, I looked at the contents of the file through the viewer, where there were only values as after installation.

Re: all settings,profiles are lost - V5.0.6
Starting with the next version 5.1.0, NetSetMan will prevent the settings file to be written to if the system is shutting down. Hopefully, this will solve your issue.
