Radio off instead of disable Wifi Adaptor profile

Do not want to disable the WiFi adaptor when activating profile.
Would like to disable the Radio only but leave adaptor enabled.

I.E.:
C:\Windows\system32> netsh wlan show interface

There is 1 interface on the system:

    Name                   : Wi-Fi
Description            : Qualcomm QCxxxxx 802.11ac Wireless Adapter
    GUID                   : xxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Physical address       : xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:01
    State                  : disconnected
    Radio status           : Hardware On
                             Software On

Hosted network status  : Not available

then change to ...
Radio status           : Hardware On
                             Software Off
...

Is there an command to turn the radio off instead of disabling Wifi Adaptor profile as indicated above?
Could not find a NETSH or POWERSHELL command that accomplished that.
Even forcing airplane mode would be better than the alternative.
Thanks,
Jestre

Re: Radio off instead of disable Wifi Adaptor profile

Could you please describe your use case and where you would change this setting in Windows manually?

If your goal is to stop automatically connecting to WiFi networks, then you can set this in your WiFi profiles.  You can do this in the NSM WiFi Management by disabling the option "Connect when this network is in range" for every existing profile.

Re: Radio off instead of disable Wifi Adaptor profile

Use case, switch between 3 states and 2 profiles @ work.
States:   (Autoconnect is on in all states)
1A. Hardwired to corporate network with WiFi radio off.
1B. with network glitching/disconnected or mobile for a meeting with WiFi radio on, on corporate WiFi network.
2. Connected to EtherNet/IP controllers with WiFi radio on, on corporate WiFi network.
Ideal option for profile 1 would be autoswitching between 1a & 1b, or to turn radio on when hardwire network connection is lost and back off when plugged back in.

WiFi Radio on/off toggle is currently accessed via taskbar on either the network icon then WiFi toggle or via notification area WiFi toggle.  It is also accessible via a hot key.
The Toggles are both only 2 clicks & are almost instantaneous.  The other options; NetSetMan,  enable/disable individual WiFi network profiles or enable/disable WiFi adaptor are all slower & more cumbersome.

Re: Radio off instead of disable Wifi Adaptor profile

There's an option in the AutoSwitch menu that should probably do what you wish for:
"Disable WiFi when LAN connected, otherwise enable it"
https://www.netsetman.com/help?hf=en#hf_autoswitch

However, as you've correctly pointed out, it disables the WiFi adapter(s) on a hardware level. We've implemented it this way, because it's the only solution for all Windows versions. The software toggle was added in Windows 10 only.

We will consider implementing a special solution for Windows 10. Thank you for your suggestion.
