Ramdon cuts access network

Lately I am having occasional cuts in my access to the network. These problems are fixed by reinitializing the computer.

It seems to me that this happens to me since I use the latest version, and I would like to go back to the previous version to see if these cuts disappear.

Unfortunately I can not repeat the situation, nor provide useful information.

How can I download a previous version?

I am using Windows7, NSM 4.7.1., NSM Active,
I not able top reproduce the problem, but I guess it happen after a long inactivity period and starting copy files to a NAS disk, and the problem occurs during the copy task. Part of the files are copyed.

Re: Ramdon cuts access network

We don't provide or recommend using old versions. Over the years, we've been able to eliminate many even rare bugs, because users reported bugs instead of switching to older versions, in case of incompatibilities with a new version. If there’s a problem, we’d like to know about that so we have the chance to analyze and fix it.

Having said that, the problem you’re describing has most certainly nothing to do with version 4.7.1 for multiple reasons:

  1. Nothing has been changed regarding the IP functionality or connectivity in general for several versions now. You can find the changelog here.

  2. NetSetMan changes the configured settings during a profile activation. It doesn’t influence your connectivity just by being installed or running minimized in the background. So if your connection stops working randomly, this has nothing to do with the actual functionality of NetSetMan.

  3. The latest version 4.7.1 has been released 4 months ago. Your bug report is the first of its kind. Usually, when there’s a general problem, we would have already received multiple similar bug reports.

We recommend you to analyze the actual symptoms of this problem, before concluding the possible reasons. Just to give you some starting points: What exactly stops working (DNS resolution, IP packet transmission, …)? Try ping, tracert, nslookup. Try installing new or alternative drivers for your network adapter, because this sounds like a driver or caching problem.

Please let us know if you’ve been able to resolve this problem.

Re: Ramdon cuts access network

I'm just trying to eliminate potential situations and candidates.

The problem seems to be related to the state of the wired network adapter, because I switch to Wi-Fi and it works, I go back to cable, and it still does not work, but my knowledge is not very deep, so I will not delimit it anymore.
