Does it support 'Remote NDIS based Internet connection' ?
Hello there!
I often tether my Smartphone to access Internet on my notebook PC.
Such a connection is classified under - Remote NDIS based internet connection.
Does NetSetMan support such a category ?
One striking feature we observe for every single time is that the 'Network number' never remain constant & shows an incremental pattern for each of the subsequent connection attempts.
For e.g. - if right now it shows up :: Local Area Connection 3, Network 13, Remote NDIS based Internet sharing device ; the next day it will yield - Network 14 ...& hence forth for subsequent connection attempts !
Therefore, can one better manage such a type of Internet-connectivity using NetSetMan ?
Inputs will be sincerely appreciated.
Thank you.

There's a Connection feature that you can use to establish connections such as RAS/DUN/PPP/VPN:

But according to your screenshot, that's not what you're looking for.
To be honest, we have only little testing experience with "Remote NDIS based internet connection" NICs. Having said that, NetSetMan supports all kinds of NICs that have the TCP/IP protocol installed (as it is in your case). So you should be able to include this NIC in NetSetMan using the Network Adapter Management:
https://www.netsetman.com/en/help?hf=en#hf_nics
However, your actual problem is that your adapter is re-installed, every time you connect it. It's not only the name that changes, but Windows installs a new NIC everytime the number increases. You can see this in the Registry. Examine the subkeys of:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
We don't think we have a suitable solution for this right now. We are planning to modernize the NIC management in NetSetMan with more flexible possibilities. We're going to consider your constellation in that process.
The only way we see here, is to find and solve the reason for the re-installation of the NIC. Then you can include and manage it in NetSetMan.
