DHCP problem

All,

I am a long time user of this great product, but often times have one problem that I've always seemed to work around, but it's gotten to a point of frustration now, so I decided to post here asking for advice or help. Here goes:

Many / most of my profiles have to be setup with static IP information in order for them to work. No DHCP. Doesn't matter where I am (travelling and trying to connect to hotel wifi, office, home, etc.).

My profiles are pretty standard in my view. grab adapter(s), associate wifi SSID, tick obtain "IP info" and "dns"  automatically, activate and.... nothing. Going back and specifying static IP info and DNS servers? No problem.

Again, becoming more and more common.

Using the product in Win10, 64-bit by the way.

Any advice?

Thanks.

activate and.... nothing

What exactly do you mean by "nothing"? What's the result? Do you get some error message? What's the activation log saying (open it at the bottom of the activation dialog)?
Please include the full activation log and a screenshot of your profile configuration.

Re: DHCP problem

Apologies. "Nothing" was a general reference to a no connection... as in... no IP settings applied, 169.254.x.x address, no internet access, etc.

And again, when supplying the IP settings in a "static" manner, all is well.

Does that answer your question?

Thank you.

Re: DHCP problem

We'd still like to see the files we've requested in our previous posting:
1. Activation log of the DHCP profile you're activating
2. A screenshot of that profile
3. Additionally after activating DHCP and waiting for about 1 minute, please run the following command in cmd.exe:

ipconfig /all > %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\ipconfig.txt

This will create the file ipconfig.txt on your desktop.
Send us all these three files as email attachments to the email address displayed on our contact page.

Some background information:
When you activate a profile with DHCP NetSetMan sets the DHCP setting for that adapter in Windows. Windows then takes care of the rest. It searches for a DHCP server connected to your device and if it finds one, it negotiates the correct settings to apply. Notice that after NetSetMan applies the DHCP setting to the system everything else is done by Windows. So the major question is: Does it work if you switch from a static IP address to DHCP manually in the Windows preferences of that network adapter? Based on that we would know if the problem is with NetSetMan enabling DHCP or with Windows using DHCP.

Re: DHCP problem

Apologies, yes. I'll work in getting these items that you request here as timing permits.

Thanks.
