System reboot ans lost settings

Hi,
i use on a Dell Latitude E5430 notebook, Win7 64Bit, the Version 4.12 pro.

Configured are three IP-Settings.

Sometimes it works and sometimes, if i select one of this IP-Settings and push the activate button, my system reboot automaticly and lost all the settings.
After reboot NetSetMan have no more IP-Settings.

Does anybody have the same problem or can help?

To apply the ip settings NetSetMan accesses the network adapter through several Windows interfaces. If this causes your computer to crash then it's about 99,9% a problem with the driver of the network adapter. But Windows actually doesn't reboot directly but first displays a blue screen (depending on your system this might be for a very short time only).

• Open C:\Windows\Minidump and see if there is one or multiple files in there. Please sort them by date and send us the files where the time stamp matches the crash time (in case you have other crashes as well that are not related to profile switching). Zip them and send them by email to us (see contact page). We can then help you analyze the crash information.
  If there are no files then it's possible that the Minidump-option is disabled. Enable it.

• Open the Windows Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc) and see if there are error messages in the Applications or System subfolders.

Usually a drivers problem can easily be fixed by installing the latest official network adapter driver. Sometimes Windows uses a compatible driver that works in most but not all situations. By downloading and installing an original driver from the manufacturer you should be able to solve a problem like this.

However, you actually mentioned two problems. The second problem describes the situation that your settings are lost in that process. This is really strange as we actually even have a backup mechanism since version 4.1.2 that jumps in if the settings file is somehow destroyed in an unexpected crash.
So help with this problem we're like to ask you to do the following before updating your driver (as afterwards the problem might be gone, so we can't reproduce or fix this problem).

1. Disable the autorun option in the preferences so NetSetMan is no launched automatically after a reboot.

2. Try to reproduce the problem.

3. After the reboot go to the program folder and copy these two files: settings.ini and settings.bak

Please zip them and send them to us by email so we can see what exactly happens to that file during the crash. Because NetSetMan isn't automatically started with Windows (after you've disabled it) we should be able to exactly see the problem.
