Auto Deploy fails due to error "not implemented"

If I try to deploy NetSetMan on our computers the installation process nevers stops. After activating the service "Interactive Service Detection" (UI0Detect) I can see that there is a dialog window in the background showing Error "Not implemented" (Actually it is in german at our site showing "Fehler" "Nicht implementiert"). I can click OK here and after that the installation process finishes and all is fine.

Where does this dialog window might come from? What is it which is not implemented?

Re: Auto Deploy fails due to error "not implemented"

Additional information: The issue only seems to occur if there was the free-for-private-use-version installed before on the same system. This was uninstalled before by hand, though.

Re: Auto Deploy fails due to error "not implemented"

We're definitely not showing this error message on purpose, nor is the displayed text part of our software. Searching for that error message reveals that Windows shows this text for "EOleSysError" errors. It's unclear to us what causes this error in your case.

Please provide further details:

  • Find out which executable causes this error (setup.exe, netsetman.exe or nsmservice.exe).

  • Describe your deployment process in detail (incl. parameters and paths) so we can try to reproduce it.

If we aren't able to reproduce it after your description, we'll create a debugging version of the component that causes that error so we can log the steps that lead to this error.

If you've uninstalled the Non-Commercial Freeware version beforehand properly then there's actually nothing left that could make a difference in the installation process.
