Display address details when assigned

It would be helpful to display the address and other details when assigned.
This is most relevantfor DHCP, but there's no reason it couldn't be displayed for all assignments to provide confirmation.

Where would you like those details to be displayed?
By hovering your mouse cursor over the NetSetMan tray icon you actually already get all those information:

Wow, that was quick!

I'm thinking it could be displayed on the popup that gives the Details and Log of the assignment process.

With 9 network ports for Virtual Machines, VPNs, Bluetooth etc, my status popup doesn't look as neat as yours! Also, I have to go select it.
I'm thinking that the Details / Log popup is already on the screen, it is the place to indicate what the program has just done.

Optionally showing the settings that have been applied with the profile is a feature that's going to be available in one of the next versions. However, since you've excplicitly mentioned DHCP: It won't be possible to show the IP in the activation log if DHCP was activated. The simple reason for this is that after applying the DHCP setting the activation process is over, but the DHCP IP assignment might still be in progress by Windows. The only way would be to pause the activation process until an IP has been assigned which isn't a good solution because depending on the network this might take a while or even completely fail if no DHCP server is available.

Regarding the 9 NICs in the TrayInfo: You can easily clean that up by selecting only the relevant network adapters that you actually would like to manage and view in the TrayInfo. Simply go to the Advanced Refresh dialog by clicking the Refresh arrow button and selecting the menu item. There uncheck all NICs that you don't want to show up anywhere in the program.

Further to this old (and still relevant suggestion) I note that in the absence of a DHCP server, an activation will still provide the All Ok flags, and a green monitor, despite the default address of 169.x.x.x being assigned.
I don't understand the reasoning but I'll accept what you say above about a positive DHCP assignment not being able to be published, but I don't see how an OK can be flagged when no DHCP server was present.

Version 4.x displays the profile settings in the log. If a static IP is applied then that IP is displayed in the log. If DHCP is applied then only "DHCP" is displayed due to the mentioned restrictions in my previous post. It seems that my previous post didn't fully answer your question as you still see it as an open request. If you have some additional suggestion based on my explaination please tell me.

Successfully activating DHCP on your system for the selected NIC has nothing to do with having access to a DHCP server. If you use the normal IP preferences dialog in Windows you can change from static IP to DHCP as well without any error messages. Imagine you're on an airplane without any network connection. You can still change to DHCP so after landing and connecting to a wireless network your device is automatically trying to find a DHCP server and assign an IP.

Showing an error message if no DHCP server is present would simply be wrong as the activation on your system succeeds. For a successful DHCP activation on your system it's irelevant whether a DHCP server is present or not.
