Error setting default printer
Hi,
I'm using NetSetMan Pro 3.2.6 and whenever I change profile setting the default printer gives an error message "access denied" the first time, if I run the same profile a second time everything is green.
As far as I can tell the default printer is set correctly when the profile is activated the first time and the error makes no sense.
I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and the NSM Service. The error shown in the "log" box is:
[0:00] Printer: Start
[0:00] Printer: Error 5
Access is denied
This is by no means any big issue, it's only a little annoying having to close the window manually.

Hm, that's strange. Since I don't know the reason for this error I can't put it on the ignore list. If you find any explaination for it or if other people encounter this problem as well, please report.

I've found that this error does not occur if I'm running NetSetMan with admin privileges. It only occures when I'm using the NSM Service.

So does this error always occur when you use the NSM Service?
And when this error occurs: Does it always change the printer correctly regardless of the error?

As far as I've noticed it happens every time the printer is actually changed. I.e. changing to a different profile with the same printer causes no error.
I have only tested this a few times, but the printer seemed to change correctly regardless of the error.
I will try to keep an eye on the printer settings for a few days and see if it always changes.

I'm using 3.3.0 and have something that's so close, I get the message "File Not Found" every time I set the printer for the first time, but when I rerun the activation it works perfectly. The default printer is set correctly on the first run. I'm using the service.

It's the first time I hear about that problem. However, if you're saying that by activating the profile a second time the problem goes away, I can integrate the same workaround as I did for the "Error 5" problem (which seemed to have worked as nobody complained about it anymore). Let's give it a try for the next version. I'd appreciate to receive some feedback after the new version has been released.
