Stuck on Applying new settings...
I am currently testing Windows 7 and installed netsetman to handle the various Wifi networks I hit. Upon installing it the first time, it ran like a champ; no problems whatsoever. However, the next day, I ran into an issue where it gets stuck on "applying new settings". It never updates, and I am not getting any errors. I removed, cleaned the registry, and re-installed the app; this did not correct the issue. I gave my account full access to the netsetman program directory to remove the possibility of an issue writing to the .ini = nogo. I checked my hosts file - everything was in order. I checked DCHP, DCOM, and DNS services - they are fine. While in netsetman, I verified that it could pull my current wifi settings - it can. I also tried to run the app as an administrator as well as creating a 'Highest Privileges task' - neither worked. Now I'm scratching my head. I admit that I am newer to using Win7/Vista and I am sure there is a setting somewhere that is botching up netsetman. If anyone could give me some pointers, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Re: Stuck on Applying new settings...
I am also having this problem, one day it is working perfectly, the next day I went to select another IP address, and it just sticks on applying new settings.
I have checked the hardware, and everything is working perfectly, I can manually change the IP address in the network settings, and that works fine. I am running Windows 2000 Professional.
Netsetman is detecting the network adaptors ok, and the correct one is selected.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

Re: Stuck on Applying new settings...
Was this a one-time problem or do you have this problem everytime you activate a profile?
What does the log say during the activation? (Click the "+" button at the bottom of the activation window)
At the point when this problem started to occur, did you make any significant system changes? (incl. special system software)
Please check the FAQ that describes the most common problems and possible solutions: www.netsetman.com/faq

Re: Stuck on Applying new settings...
No, I still have the problem unforetunately. I have uninstalled, and re-installed, but no difference. I haven't added any new software, or upgrade. It is strange, because Netsetman can see the adaptor, and refresh with no issue, but will not apply the new settings.
I have had a look through the FAQ, but could only see this thread that matched my issue.

Re: Stuck on Applying new settings...
1. Please post the log as requested.
2. The FAQ contains two topics to solve problems like this. Giving a look is a good start but you should also try those solutions out. Rebuilding the WMI Repository might be a good idea, checking the required services as well.

Re: Stuck on Applying new settings...
I had a similar problem (when applying new settings, nothing happens) and i fixed it by running the following command in a admin command prompt:
net localgroup administrators NetworkService /ADD
Not sure if this will be common to other people or not, but it did fix the problem for me.
