Unable to use netsetman after MS Update

Seems that after a Microsoft update KB2286198 that I can no longer connect using netsetman.  I am running Windows XP SP3.  The card is a SMC cardbus adapter.  I can make network connections using the SMC utility but when I disable it and attempt to activate a profile using netsetman it fails and gives the following info in the log.  I did uncheck DNS and it skips by but still doesn't connect so not convinced the DNS issue is related.

Re: Unable to use netsetman after MS Update

Hi I couldn't find any relevant information that might cause a network problem from that LNK-fix.
Is there maybe a coinsidence that occured at the same time that cause your problem?

Also I'm not sure why this should only affect DNS and not the other IP settings. Since the error messages for all IP settings is delivered directly by Windows getting an OK means that Windows took and applied all settings without any problems.

I too have the LNK-fix installed (Windows 7) without any problems.

Is this behavior enduring? What happens if you apply the settings once manually then reboot (just to make sure it's in a normal starting position) and then again try to change the settings by NetSetMan?
