Unable to open key
Hello,
I'm under Windows7 Pro.
When I run NetSetMan Pro 3.0.1, i have an error message :
"Unable to open key
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\{F1CEEB32-CC65-4D25-8234-3D800C9A3A18}\Connection" and access value "Name"
After research on the registry, i suppose that there is a conflict between netsetman and VirtualBox.
Because the mentioned network adapter is a virtual adapter used by VirtualBox.
A picture to illustrate
Thanks for solving !

Re: Unable to open key
If you intend to manage this NIC with NetSetMan, then you should change the access permissions to this key allowing a normal and/or admin to access it. However, I'm not sure if it will be possible to manage this NIC, because it is kind of a special adapter only for VirtualBox.
A more simple solution might be to remove that adapter from your NIC list in NetSetMan. Go to the Advanced Refresh dialog and unselect that NIC. (see the help file for more information about the Advanced Refresh feature)

Re: Unable to open key
I don't want to manage this NIC.
Ok for your solution, however when i do "Advanced Refresh" i have a second time the error message, and i havent the list of NIC.
And i suppose this problem is due to this NIC. Because, before I install VirtualBox I hadnt this problem.
Thanks !

Re: Unable to open key
It seems like the dialog stops getting the NIC information because of an internal access error.
I will try to implement something to avoid that problem.
You can use a workaround to get of this problem right now:
Go to the Windows network connections, deactivate the NIC of VirtualBox there. Then run NetSetMan & click refresh. The quick refresh retrieves only activated NICs, so the VirtualBox adapter will be removed. Then activate the NIC again and you're good to go.

Re: Unable to open key
This workaround doesn't solve the problem.
I deactivate the NIC of VirtualBox from the manager of peripherals; but The message already appear, and the quick refresh doesn't function still.
