Having to re-select a profile every few minutes

I'm losing connectivity to DNS every few minutes.  Re-selecting a profile gets me my internet back, but it's gone again after a few minutes.

I could not find this issue anywhere else on the forums, but I apologize if it is and I just missed it.

This has become a constant and unchanging problem.  I am a very novice user of this service as well, so any advice on what to check would be welcome and appreciated.  I would love to give you more information, but I don't know what you need to see or where to look exactly.

EDIT:  This was set up for me, and I am running 1.5.3
I would really rather not run an update if possible unless I can retrieve all of the settings from the older version and apply them to the new.  This may be something that will automatically fix itself with an update however.  Let me know what you think.

Re: Having to re-select a profile every few minutes

To begin with there's no version "1.5.3" of NetSetMan available. Are you talking about version 2.5.3? Or 3.5.3? Or something completely different?
In any case I'd always recommend to perform an update first. Solving problems for old versions isn't a good idea. All your settings are stored in settings.ini in the installation folder. You can back-up that file so nothing gets lost at all. Also when performing an update from one 3.x version to another 3.x version all your settings automatically remain the same anyways.

After NetSetMan has changed your network settings its action is complete. It doesn't monitor or disconnect it after a while again. So the loss of your connection after some minutes must have some other reason. This probably can only be found out by properly analyzing your system and network hardware. It might be that your wifi signal is lost and not re-established, maybe some malware on your system interferes or maybe the router is broken and restarts itself so the DNS isn't available (are you sure only the connection to the DNS is lost?)...

Because this problem most likely has nothing to do with NetSetMan I won't be able to analyze your connection problems myself. Maybe the person who set up NetSetMan for you can help you. Sorry.
