Problems with Windows 7 / Windows 2008 server network
I have been suffering from a problem of network settings being incorrectly set or even totally absent. The problem persists for a variable amount of time (seconds, minutes, tens of minutes) and then goes away. Seems some process is blocking access to network properties. Of course NetSetMan does not work either and reports errors as I have seem around in this forum.
For solution, I found this, installed yesterday, seems fixed

You have to ask for a quick fix at Microsoft, they send you a link to upload and install the fix. And has a password, validity for 7 days.
