Vista SP2 and NOT broadcasted SSID

Hi Ilja!
First of all, many thanks for your work. I love this tool :-)
There are a notebook with Vista SP2 and NetSetMan 3.0.2 (with NSM service 1.1.0).
If the SSID broadcasting is enabled on my router (Linksys WRT54G v1.1 + DDWRT v24 sp1), the NetSetMan profile activated without error.
If I hide the SSID, but I switch ON the "Connect even if the network is not broadcasting" checkbox on the WiFi Profiles window, I receive the "Wifi network not found" error message in the activation log. With an other roter (TP-Link TL-WR841N), I receive the "Error 70000009"!
All other setting works fine! :-)
The strange thing, after the faulty profile activation I launch the "Connect" command on the "Connect to network" window of the Vista, then it connected without error!
I haven't found anything in the Event Viewer :-(
Can you help me with any idea?
Thanks, Robesz

Re: Vista SP2 and NOT broadcasted SSID

Are you able to connect to that network directly from the NSM WiFi Management window?

Re: Vista SP2 and NOT broadcasted SSID

In the "Available WiFi Networks" list I see my router's record without name (SSID). If I try to connect from this window, then comes the "Cannot connect because this network does not have a profile...' messages. Maybe because the SSID field is empty...
Anyway my router's profile is saved in the list with the right settings.

Re: Vista SP2 and NOT broadcasted SSID

Hi Ilja,
I tested the NSM on my other laptop with "Win XP sp2" and it works perfectly with the hidden SSID router.
So, the problem may be in the Vista API handling... or somewhere else :-)
Thanks for your help!

Re: Vista SP2 and NOT broadcasted SSID

I applied a partial fix for this problem.
In the next version you should be able to connect to the network with the hidden SSID when activation a NetSetMan profile.
However, connection to a non-broadcast network still won't be possible in the NSM WiFi Management. I have to find a proper solution for this one at a later point.

Re: Vista SP2 and NOT broadcasted SSID

Hi Ilja,
sorry for my late answer, I could test the new 3.0.3 version just now!
It works fine, with the hidden SSID router!!!
Many thanks for your work!
