Error 84
Hello,
Everytime I want to switch between configurations I get "error 84 with every line within the script? Are there solutions for this problem?
Thanks in advance,

Re: Error 84
Microsofts error code table sais: "IP not enabled on adapter".
1. Are you sure that an IP protocol is installed for this adapter?
2. Please check if the service "DNS-Client" is active. (Start, Run: "services.msc").
3. There's a tiny tool called WinSock XP Fix 1.2. It helped me one with my network when I had big problems with it. Just run it and click "Fix". All protocols and registry settings are fixed automatically.
4. Re-/Install new drivers for your network adapter
5. Run Windows in secure mode and try it out again (both NetSetMan and "ipconfig /all") to see if it works then. If it does then its probably a problem with some installed software.
Try those points and have a look after each try if it helped so that it's clear which method can solve the problem problem.

Re: Error 84
I've just tried installing NetSetMan freeware on a brand new install of Windows Vista; it executed after I ran it with Administrator rights.
It will modify my wired Ethernet adapter's IP information, but I also get error 84 when trying to modify my WLAN adapter, an Intel 2915ABG miniPCI card.
I have the IP protocol installed.
I have both of the services you mention running.
I should not have to run a XP util on Vista, especially when everything else appears to be working fine.

Re: Error 84
Is the WLAN adaper activated? If it is deactived (by hardware trigger or by software) Vista will show that no IP protocol is available on that device.

Re: Error 84
Error 84 means that the adapter is not connected at the moment. For proper results it should be connected during the activation of a profile.
