Proxy & Auto Detect

Hi,

I can't get NetSetMan Pro to check both the options for "Automatically Detect Settings" and "Use a Proxy server for your LAN" within the IE / Windows' LAN settings.

My environment specifically needs both options set to allow me to use proxy servers for normal web based traffic and auto detect for Windows live messenger. Without both these options checked I can't do both.

I can check these boxes manually as in windows the options are not exclusively one or the other but can't seem to configure netsetman to do both as it seems you can only check one or the other..

is this possible or a new feature request? :-)

thanks

Rich

Re: Proxy & Auto Detect

The layout of the proxy dialog has been inspired by the proxy settings in Firefox. There a combination of the two mentioned settings isn't possible. I know that it is possible in the proxy settings of IE/Windows, but it actually didn't make sense to me. Until now nobody brought that up so I assumed it's OK the way it is. Since I want to rework the proxy feature anyway, I can try to take your wish into account. But that's not the highest priority right now, so it might take a couple of months, I'm afraid. Do you think there might be another way to deal with that issue for the moment?

How do you configure the proxy settings?
